Day by day

The itinerary, as a starting point.

Day01

Board in Luxor and see the East Bank

Your 5-star Nile cruise is waiting in Luxor. You board, settle into your cabin and have lunch on the ship. In the afternoon your private guide leads you through Karnak Temple, a forest of giant columns and sacred courts. Luxor Temple follows, warm in the late light, its stones carved with old stories. You return to the ship for dinner and a quiet first evening on the river.

After breakfast you cross to the West Bank for the Valley of the Kings, where royal tombs are painted with bright scenes of the afterlife. Next is the Temple of Hatshepsut, set below steep cliffs, and then the Colossi of Memnon. Lunch is back on board as the ship starts south toward Esna. Later you pass through Esna Lock, and dinner follows as the cruise continues.

Day03

Edfu by carriage, then Kom Ombo

The morning starts at Edfu, where a traditional horse carriage brings you to the Temple of Horus. Note its symmetry and size, and how complete the building still is. Back on board, the ship sails on to Kom Ombo. Here an unusual double temple honors Sobek and Horus the Elder together, with carvings of surgical tools and ancient calendars. The Crocodile Museum stands beside it. Dinner is on board as you sail on toward Aswan.

Day04

Aswan: the High Dam, Philae and the Obelisk

Your guided day in Aswan begins at the massive High Dam. A boat then carries you to Philae Temple, an island sanctuary of Isis known for its grace. The last visit is the Unfinished Obelisk among the granite quarries, which shows how ancient builders worked the stone. Lunch and dinner are served on board. If you wish, a visit to a Nubian village can be added as an optional tour, for a look at traditional life and color along the Nile.
