The journey

From the pyramids to Luxor along the Nile

  • Pyramids of Giza, the Great Sphinx and Valley Temple
  • Guided visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum
  • Boat trip to the Temple of Philae
  • Carriage ride to the Temple of Horus at Edfu
  • Valley of the Kings and Hatshepsut's temple
  • Karnak's Hypostyle Hall and sacred lake

Cairo comes first. After a day to arrive and settle in, your guide takes you to the Giza Plateau for the pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinos, the Great Sphinx and the Valley Temple, then on to the Grand Egyptian Museum.

You then fly to Aswan for the High Dam and the island temple of Philae before boarding a five-star Nile cruise. Three nights on the river bring Kom Ombo, Edfu, the Valley of the Kings and the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Karnak and Luxor Temple close the trip, and a flight returns you to Cairo. Sightseeing and transfers on land are private.

  • Short on time You have seven days and want both Cairo and the Nile temples done properly.
  • Museum lovers You want a guided visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum, not just the pyramids.
  • Comfort first You prefer a five-star cabin, full board on the river and private transfers.
