The journey

Giza, the Nile to Luxor and a day of your own

  • The Sphinx and the Valley Temple at Giza
  • The Egyptian Museum with your guide
  • Philae Temple on Agilkia Island
  • Medical instruments carved in stone at Kom Ombo
  • Valley of the Kings and the Colossi of Memnon
  • Karnak's soaring columns and sacred lake

Cairo begins your trip. With a private guide you walk among the pyramids of Giza, face the Sphinx and enter the Valley Temple, then visit the Egyptian Museum.

Next you fly to Aswan, where Philae Temple and the High Dam come before three nights aboard a five-star Nile cruise. The ship calls at Kom Ombo and Edfu on its way to Luxor, where you explore both banks, from the Valley of the Kings on the West Bank to Karnak on the East. A return flight to Cairo leaves you a whole day to fill as you please, and all land touring is private.

  • First visit You want the pyramids, Philae, Karnak and the royal tombs in eight days.
  • Short cruise You like a few nights on the river without giving the whole trip to the ship.
  • Free time You want one day in Cairo with no plan, for the bazaar, Coptic Cairo or the hotel spa.
