  • The Giza pyramids with your Egyptologist
  • Short camel ride with desert views
  • Karnak, then Luxor Temple at dusk
  • Royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings
  • Horse-drawn carriage ride to Edfu's Temple of Horus
  • Mummified crocodiles at Kom Ombo

Your trip opens in Cairo, where a private Egyptologist guide leads you around the pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. A short camel ride gives you the desert view, and the Egyptian Museum follows, with its thousands of ancient artifacts.

You then fly to Luxor and board a five-star Nile cruise for four nights. From the ship you reach Karnak and Luxor Temple, the royal tombs, the Colossi of Memnon and Hatshepsut's temple, then Edfu, Kom Ombo, the High Dam and Philae. A flight from Aswan brings you back to Cairo for a final night. On land, every visit and transfer is private.

  • First time in Egypt You want Giza, Luxor and Aswan covered in eight days with a guide at your side.

The itinerary, as a starting point.

Day01

Arrival in Cairo

Welcome to Egypt. When you land at Cairo International Airport, our representative is there to help with the arrival formalities. From there, you ride in a private car to your hotel and check in. Nothing more is planned today, so take the hours that remain to rest after the flight and settle in.

Overnight: Cairo
Day02

Giza's pyramids, a camel ride and the Egyptian Museum

After breakfast, your private Egyptologist guide sets out with you for Giza. You begin at the Great Pyramid of Khufu, with the two pyramids of Chephren and Mykerinus close by, and then meet the Sphinx. A short camel ride follows, with the desert opening out to the horizon. Next is the Egyptian Museum, where thousands of ancient artifacts tell the story of pharaonic Egypt. Lunch, with Egyptian flavors, is served in a local restaurant, and afterward your guide returns you to the hotel.

Fly to Luxor, then Karnak and Luxor Temple

After breakfast you are driven to Cairo Airport to catch your flight to Luxor. Once you land, you are met and brought straight to your elegant Nile cruise, home for the next four nights. In the afternoon you explore Karnak Temple with your guide. It is a vast complex of sacred shrines and colossal columns. You continue to Luxor Temple, lit at dusk. Dinner is served on board, and you spend the night on the Nile.

Day04

Luxor's West Bank, then sail toward Edfu

Breakfast is served on board, and then you head to Luxor's West Bank, where the royal tombs and monuments lie. At the Valley of the Kings, you enter tombs where pharaohs were buried with treasures meant for the afterlife. Next comes the Temple of Hatshepsut, carved into the cliffs, and then the Colossi of Memnon, a pair of imposing statues left from a vast temple complex they once guarded. Back on the ship, the cruise begins its sail toward Edfu.

The temples of Edfu and Kom Ombo

Your day starts in Edfu, where you ride to the Temple of Horus in a horse-drawn carriage. Its towering columns and massive stone reliefs reward a slow walk with your guide. The cruise then sails on to Kom Ombo. There you explore Kom Ombo Temple, a dual temple where the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon god Horus the Elder were honored side by side. Before you leave, see the museum of mummified crocodiles.

Aswan's High Dam and Philae by boat

After breakfast, you visit the High Dam, a modern engineering work that controls the flow of the Nile. A short boat ride then brings you to Philae. UNESCO rescued this temple of Isis from the rising waters, and you walk through it with calm water all around. Lunch is back on the cruise, and the afternoon is yours, to rest on board or to see Aswan on your own.
